The Mirror website reported yesterday that paranormal investigators shared a video of a statue of Jesus opening its eyes in the Saltillo church in Coahuila de Zaragoza, Mexico.

In the video, amidst the dim candlelight, the statue appears to open its eyes wide for a few seconds before quickly closing them again.

While many believe the statue is an embodiment of the resurrected Jesus, others claim it is merely a visual illusion or that the video has been digitally altered.

According to Elancasti.com.ar, the video was filmed last June, but continued to go viral online after appearing on Adimensional, a website specializing in paranormal and unusual phenomena, earlier this week.

The website’s administrator and expert in paranormal investigation, Ivan Escamilla, denied that the footage was staged.

Escamilla said that more than 20 paranormal experts, along with monks, sculptors, editors, and special effects designers, analyzed the video for weeks.

They concluded the footage was authentic and showed no signs of editing. However, authorities in the Saltillo Diocese denied the authenticity of the footage and refused to view it.
